Death Grips

After making such a big stink that they’d disbanded, we’re a little surprised to see these candy-coated anarchists still around. But if you’re a fan of heavy, blown-out punk-rap, it’s hard to find a much better act than Death Grips. We love that they continue to incorporate sounds from two of the least venerated genres of the last two decades, electroclash and digital hardcore. And that beyond that, of course they fuse abrasive techno with shouted and amped-up hip-hop and crazed distorted backing loops. When they first hit the scene, they sounded kind of out of place. But today, their music sounds totally of its time.
