With the media hell-bent on filling our lives with images of “woo-woo” girls and stud muffins, and though imaginary fulfillment, drooling and self-gratification are the predominant erotic trends, somebody has actually come up with an alternative approach to sexual relationships. The Midwest Institute of Sexology is offering three workshops — “Sexual Enrichment for Men,” (March 9-11) “Sexual Enrichment for Women” (June 1-3) and “Sexual Enrichment for Couples” (Sept. 14-16) — in a nonexploitative, no-nonsense atmosphere and conducted by sexology professionals. Barnaby B. Barratt, a professor at the Wayne State University medical school and a renowned Michigan sex therapist, heads a team that includes sexologist Mona Light and psychotherapist Myrtle C. Means in offering adults a safe, confidential setting that includes lectures, exercises and optional discussion (but hey, no sexual activity takes place in the workshops).
