Another bold move

The same day that the Kwamster stood outside City Hall last week and cautiously announced to the three gubernatorial candidates — and a couple hundred of their supporters — that not one of them would receive his endorsement, his mother told News Hits that she plans to endorse her colleague David Bonior.

“He is absolutely the best in terms of public policy,” Cheeks Kilpatrick says of Bonior. “From health care to trade and housing and education, he is the guy to do the job.”

Cheeks Kilpatrick says she would officially endorse Bonior this week. Did she postpone her announcement because of her son? News Hits says absolutely. Sonny boy already was in the precarious position of peeving-off Wayne County Exec Ed McNamara, who helped put him in office and wants state Attorney General Jennifer Granholm in the governor’s mansion. He’s also avoided miffing such heavyweights as Detroit branch NAACP President Rev. Wendell Anthony, a Bonior backer.

Kilpatrick says he did not endorse anyone because he does not want to influence voters. Say what? Then why is he campaigning for county exec hopeful Ricardo Solomon? Obviously, his mother doesn’t share his sentiments. She’s betting on Bonior. She apparently won’t be betting with Kwame.
