Annam Restaurant Vietnamien (closed)

On Michigan Ave. between Mason and Monroe
Parking: Parking lot in back; additional parking across street

Drawing on 20 years of successful experience in the restaurant industry, the Nguyen family has opened Annam Restaurant Vietnamien in Dearborn. With only 48 seats, Annam promises to provide its customers an unforgettable dining experience of traditional and high-class Vietnamese cuisine. Chef Phong Nguyen has a culinary pastry degree from Paris and has worked in a number of Parisian restaurants. She is particularly good at light, traditional Vietnamese dishes such as goi cuon (fresh spring rolls with hoisin sauce), goi ga bap cai (cabbage salad with chicken), pho ha noi (Hanoi-style noodle soup), com tay cam (rice cooked in a clay pot with perfumed mushrooms and chicken), and ga xao xa ot (sautéed chicken with a touch of curry and lemon grass). Expect light traditional dishes served amid spare and elegant decor: wicker chairs, fragrant vanilla candles, white linen and fresh flowers. Reservations can be made by phone or fax.
