Now in its fourth year, Hamtramck Blowout has become the single
largest and most diverse showcase of local Detroit musicians. Rock,
blues, folk, hip hop, punk, rockabilly, metal and electronic are
all represented during the three days of the festival.
Hamtramck Blowout 2001 offers music lovers the chance to see some
established favorites as well as a slew of talented up and comers.
Roughly 80% of this year's lineup are first time Blowout participants.
All
access wristbands are only $10 and are good for all three days of
the festival. They will be available at all of the venues beginning
Thursday, March 8 at 8pm.
As in previous years, a portion of the proceeds from Hamtramck Blowout
will benefit the Motor City Music Foundation, a tax-exempt organization
honoring Detroit Musicians working on a national, regional and local
level. The MCMF is the organization that produces the Detroit Music
Awards.
