Spartan fans rejoice. Nike is coming to town, and they're bringing Tom Izzo and Sparty along to get the fun started.

Nike's long-anticipated Detroit store opens its doors tomorrow, May 26, at 10 a.m. with a welcome from the MSU coach and photo opportunities with both Coach Izzo and the mascot.

The 22,000 square foot space in the F. W. Woolworth building on Woodward is the company's seventh Nike Community Store. The designation reflects a commitment to serving the community through sport and volunteerism, as well as a goal of hiring city residents.

The Detroit store has already begun a volunteer partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Michigan, and will be the first Nike Community Store to award grants to local nonprofits through the Nike Community Impact Fund.

Opening week festivities continue on June 3 & 4, when the store will host group fitness activities, basketball, and a youth run.

The Nike Detroit Community Store is located at 1261 Woodward Ave.
