In honor of The Oakland Art Novelty Company's fourth anniversary, the speak-easy style spot will give its bartenders the night off and instead feature mixologists from spots all over Metro Detroit at 5 p.m., Aug. 30.

Guests include Kaytee Querro from Chartreuse Kitchen and Cocktails in Midtown; Yani Frye from Corktown's Sugar House; Sagen Isham from Imperial Bar and Public House in Ferndale and David Martinez from The Last Word in Ann Arbor. Cocktails will be paired with food from Chartreuse and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. This event has turned into something of a tradition for the craft cocktail joint. Participating bartenders are planning to concoct a variety of their own recipes. Some of the highlights include: Querro's Chooser’s Choice, made with Pierre Ferrand 1840 cognac, chartreuse elixir and muddled sugar cube; Frye's Green Beast with Two James Absinthe du Nain Rouge with lime, sucrose, cucumber; and the  JFK to LAX by Isham, made with Del Maguey Vida mezcal with crème de cacao, Bonal and mole bitters.
