Last night, Metro Times' editor-in-chief Valerie Vande Panne was on FOX 2's "Let It Rip" with Andrea Lavigne, the Grosse Pointe resident who is trying to get MT banned in her community.

Lavigne opened by comparing MT's ads to slavery:

"I think that the ads in the back are sexist.; it's not that they're sex ads, they're sexist ads. We don't sell black people in the back of major newspapers anymore. We used to sell black people in the back of major newspapers for slavery and minstrel show entertainment up until the early 1900s, but we don't do that anymore for ethical and legal reasons, and as women we don't want to be sold in the back of newspapers for ethical and legal reasons as well."

All present pointed out that Metro Times does not sell humans.

We admit we're impressed Lavigne knew what a "Murphy game" was (we had to look it up on Urban Dictionary after), and that she has friends who get involved in Murphy games. She also mentions that she doesn't want "our kids giving each other golden showers."

Vande Panne notes that not only was it her first time on FOX News, but that it was her first appearance on a television program as well.

Previously, it was noted that Lavigne identified politically as a "Maoist," and that she was working to legalize marijuana in Grosse Pointe.
